HONG KONG

We meet again with new journey of us.  HONG KONG!!!! ....... Me and my daughter will be going to Hong Kong, Macau and Shenzhen.
Our flight from Sandakan to Kota Kinabalu in the morning and Kota Kinabalu to Hong Kong by Malaysia Airline in the morning same day.

Hong Kong it is known for its expansive skyline and deep natural harbour and is one of the most densely populated regions in the world and famous for its energetic metropolitan area. It has a population of
seven million and has been continuously occupied  for over five millennial.

Hong Kong's majority Cantonese speaking. Hong Kong has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world and Hong Kong has many nicknames, but the most famous is "Pearl of the orient" (Cantonese: Dong Fong Chi Chu). It was named according to the shiny city lights from both sides of Victoria Harbour and the high rise buildings. In addition, Hong Kong is also named as "Golden Egg", "The World's most vertical City", "The orient Manhattan", "The paradise of shopping", "Food paradise" and "City of life".
The Hong Kong International Airport is also home to one of the world's largest passenger terminal buildings.
Hong Kong International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Asia and more than 100 airlines operate flights from the airport to over 180 cities across the globe. In this international airport there are 3 type of transportation that you can use. By train, bus or taxi.  Since our hostel is in Tsim Sha Tsui area and just along the bus way, so we choose to take the bus.

It's easy, the bus just park outside of the terminal, it is a double dicker and i choose to sit on the top so i can take picture and can see clearly.

The journey from Hong Kong Airport to Tsim Sha Tsui less then 1 hour depend on the traffic.
We get down in Tsim Sha Tsui bus stop no 21.  It's not far from our hostel.  We walk for few minute and pass few block. The hostel is inside a mention building, we are on the 27th floor.

---- >  When we arrive, i am a bit surprise because i never thought that the room is so small, just enough for 2 person and can't even move freely at the same time. :-) but then this is Hong Kong, every inch is count.

After check-in, put our things in our room, we rush down and walk around Tsim Sha Tsui area and look around where is the LRT and get some maps.

Now let's talk about Tsim Sha Tsui (TST), Tsim Sha Tsui is the heart and soul of Hong Kong situated at the very tip of the Kowloon Peninsular and is best reached by taking the scenic Star Ferry across the harbour from central. Along with causeway bay, this area offers you non-stop shopping opportunities from Harbour City to TST East.  From the massive Ocean Terminal / Harbour city, head up to Peking Road, past the myriad of jewelers, bars and restaurant until you reach Nathan Road.  Known as "The Golden Mile" The sidewalks of Granville and Cameron Road, a favourite spot for factory outlet
clothing.

----> This is how it's look like, always busy.... night and day full of people.

The weather was a bit cold and it's nice to walk in this weather.  According to the map we can do few things on our day 1 such as walking along the bay Avenue of stars, go for the cruise and watching the Symphony of lights.

So first i have to buy the ticket for the sunset cruise, while waiting for the cruise to open, me and my daughter walk along the bay to see some plaques contain hand prints and autographs of the stars set in cement.  Most of the plaques only contain celebrities' names as they are now deceased. A 2.5 meter bronze statue of  Bruce Lee was erected along the Avenue of Stars in 2005. It is a good place to go to see the glamorous stars of HK. The promenade commands a stunning panoramic view across Victoria Harbour. At night it is a popular viewing place for the Symphony of  Lights display.

---->  Statue of Bruce Lee the legend of superstar
           Hong Kong

----> View Kowloon Island, Business center

----> What a relax, it's take about 55-minute boat ride at Victoria Harbour cruise aboard a Chinese junk boat. We enjoy unlimited drinks while witnessing the mesmerizing reflections of Hong Kong's gorgeous multicolored neon lights mirrored
on water.  Fantastic view, and it is so beautiful, we
really enjoy it.

When the cruise ship has docked in the Hong Kong port, soak up the sights and sounds of  Hong Kong illuminated at night.  We arrive half-hour before sundown and watch as the city lights come on in their varicolored brilliance.

It's not far for us to walk to  Nathan Road to enjoy the Hong Kong’s famous ‘Symphony of Lights’ from Tsim Sha Tsui promenade before a stroll along the Avenue of Stars.

Day 2
We sleep better at night after almost a day walk till  late at night. So today i have to cook porridge, it's hard to find halal food in HK, so i have to cook and eat before we go out. This is normal for us :-)

After having our breakfast, we start walk to the ferry Jetty.  Going to the Peak Tower you have to cross the river to Kowloon that is at the other side of the island. Its only a short ride.  When we arrive at
Kowloon Jetty we have to take bus to the Tram station.  We buy our tickets, need to wait for the train to come down from the top, going up is about 396 meters above sea level.  You can use bus, taxi or private car via the circuitous Peak Road, or by walking up the steep Old peak road from near the Zoological Botanical Gardens

The Peak Tower is one of the most stylish architectural icons in Hong Kong. With an avant-garde design representing the epitome of modern architecture, the spectacular tower has been featured in millions of photographs and postcards across the world.
Inside The Peak Tower, there is a dazzling array of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues set against the beautiful backdrop of the city.
Moreover, The Peak Tower boasts the highest 360° viewing platform - The Sky Terrace, standing at 428 above sea level, the Sky Terrace 428 offers spectacular panoramic views of the vibrant city – from the stunning cityscape to the tranquility of greenery landscape.

With some seven million visitors every year, the Peak is a major tourist attraction of Hong Kong. It offers spectacular views of the city and its harbours. The viewing deck also has coin operated telescopes that the visitors can use to enjoy the cityscape.

Take picture for remembrance with spectacular view of Hong Kong.  What amazing view!!!! that you get from here looking down just like i want to stay longer and enjoy the view.  No wonder Hong Kong was call also "Golden Egg" "The World's most vertical City".

One of the most popular place in this Peak Tower is Madame Tussaud's.  There are nearly 100 wax

figures of internationally-known personalities and local celebrities to date — with Asian figures taking up more than a third of the total, of which sixteen were Hong Kongers. Asian celebrities and superstars have often graced the unveiling of their wax likenesses with sizable groups of their fans tagging along.

I take this opportunity to pay golf with Tiger Wood which his-self  witness me hitting the ball.

I think most of Korean fans know him...... i was so lucky to take picture with him hahahahhaah...... Jangan cemburu !!!!!! (don't be jealous!!!!)

The Beatles!!!!  I love their song.... :-)

The Beatles were an English rock band that formed in Liverpool, in 1960. With John Lennon, Paul Lennon, Paul MacCartney, Gearge Harrion and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era.
Heeemmmm........ look at my daughter she is concentrate looking at this famous guy, i wonder what on her mind???

She dont miss the opportunity to sing with them

Both of them concentrate and  focus on his designs

Elvis Aaron Presley was an American singer, musician, and actor. One of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century, he is often referred to as "the King of Rock and Roll", or simply, "the King".

DAY 4 - "Las Vegas Strip of the East"

Today is our 4 days in Hong Kong.  This morning we need to go out early as we are going to Macau by Ferry, it takes about 1 hours to arrive Macau and last ferry back to Hong Kong is 10.30 pm

----> This is the ferry that we use, it's nice and clean as well.

Macau is best known as Asia's largest destination for gambling taking in more revenue than Las Vegas. Macau is officially the same country with mainland China, but maintains its own ruling systems. Like its neighbor  Hong Kong,

Although best known for gambling, Macau is extremely rich in attractions and oozing with atmosphere, thanks to hundreds of years of fusion between European and Chinese cultures.
Macau is a fascinating place to just walk around as the place is packed with churches, temples, fortresses and other old buildings bearing an interesting mix of Portuguese and Chinese characteristics. Besides buildings, there are also hundreds of narrow alleyways forming a maze in the old part of Macau where the people of Macau carry out businesses and work.

We decide to talk slowly in Macau, when we feel tired walking, we just take a break and enjoy several pretty gardens.

One of the interesting things to see in Macau is a statue of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (known as 觀音 kwoon yam in Cantonese) located next to the sea near the Sands Casino and MGM Grand. Despite being a Chinese deity, the statue is distinctly European in design and resembles the statues of the Virgin Mary you can find in Europe.

DAY 5

Today we will be going to Shenzhen, the city next border of Hong Kong and will be staying there for 3 days. From our hotel we have to go by train and change another train that is going to Shenzhen. The express train is clean, with modern facility and fast, our journey from East Tsim Sha Tsui to Lo Wu takes 42 minutes about 30 min to arrive Shenzhen.

Shenzhen is served by 3 domestic intercity railway stations with another under construction (Shenzhen Station, Shenzhen North Station, Shenzhen West Station and Futian Station)

Shenzhen won the honor because of its proximity to the abundant capital resources and management expertise across the border in Hong Kong. Since then, it has been a real boom town and today is a bustling city of 14 million.

Shenzhen is a popular destination for Chinese domestic tourists. They were originally attracted by its famous theme parks but as the city has developed and become richer they are increasingly drawn by Shenzhen's famous architecture, shopping, bars, restaurants and active art scene. Shenzhen's beaches have become famous throughout China.

When we arrive it's already around 6.30 pm, so we check in at a hotel that is not far from the train central.  I choose this because it's easy for us to move around.  When we arrive my daughter is not feeling well, she has fever and her eyes feel pain, so

i  ask for help from the workers in that hotel to buy me some mendicant  for her and some liquid for putting on her eyes.

DAY 6
Shenzhen has many theme parks, which are Window of The World and Splendid China & Chinese Folk Culture Village is very famous, i choose to go to this 2 place.  Moving in China is not a big problem as you can easily use train  from Metro Station, Luobao Line.  The train start from  9am - 10 pm every day.
popular with Chinese tourists, many of whom go to Shenzhen mainly for these. Reactions of Western visitors vary widely, from enjoying them immensely to finding them amazingly tacky. Most of them are owned and operated by the Shenzhen OCT (Overseas Chinese Town) Group.

Mountains, Yunnan's Stone Forest, and of course the Great Wall of China. This park is huge and covers 300,000 square meters, fully forested with beautiful greenery. The other part consists of 56 houses, each representing one of the 56 nationalities in China, such as Miao, Yi, Bai, Mongol and Uygur. You can find here real people, culture, fashion, habits, religion and language. Uygur women twirl to Turkish music, Miaos dance, a miniskirted Ming Dynasty troupe performs electronic versions of Ming music and dance. Do not miss the Mongol horse battle held daily. But the final Phoenix show is mind-blowing (ticketed on holidays). Afterwards near closing time there is a somewhat strange, spontaneous techno-light water splash fight in the splash area. ¥150.
Today my daughter my daughter don't want to join me so i have to go alone, i cook something for her so she can eat if she is hungry. After breakfast i start to go to the train station to go to one of the famous team park Splendid China & Chine Folk Culture Village.
There are two sections: The first part is a miniature park of famous Chinese sites. You can find the famous Forbidden City, Terracotta Soldiers, Tibet Potala Palace, Huangshan
